When one deducts from the sum of these two figures, $1,401.00 the parish's weekly financial obligation to the Diocese, i.e. assessments, $358.85 plus the weekly premiums for property and liability insurance, $149.20, the sum of which is $508.05, plus its weekly obligation to All Saints School, $987.21, the sum total of which is $1,495.26, one sees that ($94.26) of this collection is available for operating the parish. This is a deficit!

BIRTHDAY NOTES
Mrs. Kutch was born on 4 May 1910. God willing, she will observe her 97th birthday this week! Our deepest respect, affection and gratitude go out to her. We are blessed to have her. She has done many good deeds for the parish. For the record: Mrs. Kutch is our second oldest parishioner.

Drew R. Weidner had a BD on 26 April and - Lord have mercy on us! - we didn't include it in last weekend's bulletin. To make matters worse, it was a milestone BD (ends in zero)! We regret the omission and wish him a Happy Belated BD.

Virginia Tech Killer Fueled by Pornography Says Expert
College knew he was a mentally ill, pornography and violence obsessed sexual predator and still did not expel him

BLACKSBURG, Virginia, April 23, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pornography fueled the deranged mind of the Virginia Tech killer, who massacred 32 people at Virginia Tech before turning the gun on himself last Monday, according to an expert on pornography.
Dr. Judith Reisman, one of the foremost researchers on pornography and its corrosive effects on individuals and society, described mass murderer Cho Seung-Hui, 23, as having a pornographic or "erototoxic addiction" that fueled the rage of his mind unbalanced by antidepressant drugs.
In a column for WorldNetDaily, Reisman wrote that often what Cho and other school killers have in common is "a society drenched in sadosexual arousal as entertainment, some family troubles of a trivial and/or serious nature", and a lethal combination of pornography, violent video gaming, and antidepressant drugs known to facilitate violent behavior in some people.
Cho, who was diagnosed as mentally instable in 2005, attended Virginia Tech, but displayed a high degree of sexual turmoil fueled by pornography.
Filled with uncontrollable sexual pornographic fantasies Cho is said to have been a walking time bomb, who had a history of stalking women and pornographic sexual harassment at Virginia Tech including an obsession with taking pictures of girls "legs and knees under the desks with his cell phone.''
An English major, Cho authored a deranged 10 page play entitled "Richard McBeef", where he wrote pornographically about a 13-year-old boy protagonist. The boy rages spewing furious filthy obscenities against his molesting homosexual/pedophile step-father, who expresses certain sexual predilections to the boy's mother before killing the boy in the end.
The depravity and rage of the play as well as Cho's other writings terrified professor Nikki Giovanni so much that she demanded Cho undergo psychiatric counseling and threatened to quit unless he were removed from her class.

Giovanni called Cho "evil" and said the poems he wrote for her class revealed someone engaged in ''a personal violation … objectifying his subjects,'' doing things ''to your body parts."
"This is massive pornographically motivated sexual harassment well beyond the norm" wrote Reisman, who added that for Cho to shoot "pictures of girls' crotch area 'under the desks'" and not be arrested was criminal on the part of Virginia Tech.
So, instead of expelling a mentally ill, pornography-obsessed sexual predator, Virginia Tech allowed Cho to rage, until he had killed 27 students and five lecturers in the schools' gun-free "safe-zone", which supposedly should have made the campus safer.
Dr. Judith Reisman, author of Kinsey: Crimes and Consequences has documented the connection between pornography and violent crime, especially in rising sexual crimes.
Reisman exposed the fraudulent "findings" of America's "sex expert", Alfred Kinsey, whose sexual experiments on children "rivals the Nazi experiments described at Nuremberg" and involved gross illegal sexual experimentation on several hundred young children (as young as 2 months) by pedophiles and sex offenders. The result of these findings and surveys of hundreds of sex offenders, prostitutes, prison inmates and exhibitionists became the very foundation of modern "sex science" and today's tolerance of dangerous and criminal sexual behaviors.

MY COMMENT
A friend of mine, Chris Chapman, sent me this article from the Net (LifeSiteNews).
When I read it, I said to myself: This is interesting. I think I'll put some excerpts into the bulletin. People should know about this.
As it has turned out, I'm not editing the article at all, but printing the whole thing. I ask you please to read it.
The strange this is this: In all the TV and print coverage of the Virginia Tech massacre and in all of the analysis of what could possibly have been going on in Cho's mind, I don't remember any commentator emphasizing Cho's obsession with pornography. Pornography is a powerful and protected industry in our country.
Invoking the Name of Jesus Christ, I beg all of my parishioners to do all that they possibly can to safeguard their children and their homes from pornography. It is an entranceway to hell.

WHAT HAPPENS TO CHILDREN WHO DIE WITHOUT HAVING BEEN BAPTIZED?
My reason for bringing this question to the bulletin is this: On the front page of the 21 April edition of the Pottsville Republican there was an article about a document that was just released, with the approval of the Holy Father, the name of which is THE HOPE OF SALVATION FOR INFANTS WHO DIE WITH OUT BEING BAPTIZED.
The newspaper article about the document came from the Associated Press. It was filled with confusion. I mean, of course, that the article was filled with confusion, not the document. The AP reporter asked Fr. Richard McBrien to comment on the document, which he was only too happy to do. Quite frankly, I have my doubts that Fr. McBrien had even read the document. Nothing he said in his commentary indicated that he had. Fr. McBrien teaches at Notre Dame University. He was a teacher of mine at Boston College. During my time sitting in his classroom, I found, to my delight, that there were times, every once in a while, when what Fr. McBrien believed and taught approximated what the Catholic Church believes and teaches.
Fr. McBrien is the author of a catechism that was censured by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. That is a distinction usually reserved for persons who, in simpler times, were being considered for excommunication and / or conflagration.
Point to be made: Please be certain that Fr. McBrien's comments about original sin and baptism and being born in sanctifying grace are vintage McBrienism and are heretical. They are not what the document teaches, nor are they what the Catholic Church believes. Here is what the Church believes and teaches on the subject:

As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus' tenderness toward children which caused him to say: "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them, allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church's call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism. [Catechism of Catholic Church #1261]
